Girls, listen up! Your wedding is an opportunity to express your own individual style. You have to live with the memories and photos for the rest of your life! Be who you are and you will be happy.
For myself, as for a lot of you, hair is important. (Probably why mine changes the whole time.) I feel it is the first thing you notice about a person. It is so important that people will even refer to your as the blond girl, or the weird purple-haired girl, when they can’t remember your name.
You don’t have to do the veil thing anymore! You can have cute hair no matter what your hair-length. To inspire you I am going to do a number of gorgeous features on accessorising your hair for your wedding.
Part One is all about flowers. Real or fake they are romantic and feminine. Flowers will work with any hair-length.
We kick off with this hippie inspired look. Love!
Match the flowers to your colour pallet. This deep red is sultry and romantic - perfect if you’re having a formal evening wedding.
Campaign colour pallets seems to be in this season. I can see why!
Add pearls and beads for glamour.
Big is definitely better when it comes to wedding hair accessories. This is so beautiful.
Get your creative friend to make these cute hairpins. You just attach a rose with wire to a normal hairpin. These cute roses are by Stranded Treasures.
There are so many possibilities with flowers. Add feathers, a ribbon, beads, a brooch or button. You can literally go wild, or not. All of these items can be bought at your local haberdashery.
When using real flowers try to use flowers, like orchids, that will last a long time without water.
Cute, cute, cute!
Now, this I love! It is simple and elegant, yet with lots of attitude.
Decorate a simple hair comb with roses, feathers and beads.
I have friends with “big hair”!! Don’t know if they will go this crazy, but if you’ve got it…. just add jasmine.
All white flowers look great in dark hair.
You can wear flowers on the back or side of your head.
Use pieces of your mother or grandmother’s wedding dress to add “something old”.
You and hubby can where matching accessories.
For a feminine look use soft fabric flowers, add a classic brooch.
Sassy!
Hope you are inspired to do something different with flowers with your hair on your wedding.
If you are inspired please make comments and send us your pictures.
Tune if for Part 2 where I will show inspiring hair-dos with Birdcage Veils.

Hey Lettie. I totally agree on the whole hair thing. I wanted a plain hairstyle but with a bit of flair. Bought the most beautiful hairpiece at Attitude in Tygevalley. By using a hairpiece or flower you can really let your hair tell people a story about who you are as well.
Hi Cornelia, thanks for the comment and for sharing with us where you bought your hairpiece. Sadly, there are a lot of places in South Africa, which sell gorgeous hair accessories at affordable prices, and many brides-to-be don’t know about them.
We will be featuring Cornelia’s wedding in picturesque Paarl later this month - so keep a look out for that hairpiece.
If you found the perfect little place to buy hairpieces from, please make a comment.
I love all of these hair pieces but can’t find anything I like in the shops like accessorize etc. Do you know of anybody else that supplies silk flowers hairpieces. I need help ASAP.
Lizl, talk to your dressmaker for local places to find silk flowers. Make your own or visit the http://www.etsy.com for international items.
